The Light A Life Campaign is a mailing campaign that runs through the entire month of December every year. This campaign raises money for the Medical Emergency Fund at the Foundation for Community Care. The Medical Emergency Fund helps local individuals and their families with medical emergency assistance when they suffer from an illness or medical condition that a Sidney Health Center provider feels would be best treated outside of the area. These families face worry, stress, and often extreme financial burden. The Medical Emergency Fund helps to directly ease those burdens through generous and selfless community support. This gesture sometimes makes all the difference during a very serious healthcare crisis.
The true greatness of giving to the Foundation for Community Care's Medical Emergency Fund isn't necessarily your monetary donation. It's your ability to get involved in the story of someone who needs your help, and at one point or another in our own lives, we are all in need of a little help.
When you make a gift to the Medical Emergency Fund, either a memorial gift or an honorary gift, we'll send a special holiday Light A Life card to whomever you request. Qualified Medical Emergency Fund awards are $500 each, meant to help with travel expenses and offset unexpected financial needs in an emergency situation. Any donation amount will not only Light a Life this holiday season, it will potentially impact a friend, neighbor, or family member in their greatest time of need.
