Benefits of Giving

All of us who live and work in northeastern Montana stand to benefit from continued quality healthcare and medical services. Each time you give a gift to the Foundation you help sustain a stronger healthcare future for us all.

Endowment Fund
The Foundation's Endowment Fund is simply a pool of assets we hold and invest to provide long-term growth interest and dividends. The principal of the Endowment fund is never spent, ensuring stability for our local healthcare needs far into the future. Some of the earnings are used each year to provide funds to the medical and healthcare needs of our local area. So, the larger the endowment fund, the more dollars available for meeting immediate and annual needs. This is why we say that gifts given to the endowment fund "keep giving, year after year." They make a difference for a lifetime!

Donor Wall of Recognition
This distinctive wall of honor is special because it recognizes the commitment to and financial support of healthcare in our area by our generous community. Each tax-deductible contribution you make to the Foundation for Community Care is recorded. All of your gifts are combined to note your cumulative giving level, which will be recognized on this wall of honor, unless you request anonymity. The Donor Wall of Recognition (located at Sidney Health Center) is updated yearly to reflect additional gifts, which elevate donors to higher levels. The cumulative giving levels are as follows: Donor Wall Levels
  • $50,000 & Over - Full Square
  • $25,000 - $49,999 - Level 5
  • $10,000 - $24,999 - Level 4
  • $2,500 - $9,999 - Level 3
  • $1,000 - $2,499 - Level 2
Legacy Society
The Legacy Society recognizes, honors and thanks individuals who have made a commitment to the future of healthcare through bequests to the Foundation in their wills or other estate plans. You are invited to become a member by making a gift in your will or trust, naming the Foundation as beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan, naming the Foundation as owner/beneficiary of your life insurance policy or establishing other planned giving arrangements. Society members are recognized in a special way on our Donor Recognition Wall at Sidney Health Center.

Sustainer's Society
Members of the Sustainers Society are friends of the Foundation for Community Care who have committed to making annual contributions above and beyond their regular gifts. Society members receive bi-annual newsletters from the Foundation, are honored each year at a special celebration and are recognized on our Donor Recognition Wall at Sidney Health Center.

Montana Endowment Tax Credit
This tax credit (enacted by the MT Legislature in 1997) allows donors to pay less in Montana income taxes by giving a planned gift to a permanent endowment fund of a qualified Montana charity (like the Foundation for Community Care). With a planned gift, an individual receives a credit on his or her Montana income tax bill equal to 40% of the federal income tax deduction for the gift. There is a maximum $10,000 tax credit, per year per individual. What an outstanding incentive to donate! Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies can also qualify for this credit (at 20%) with outright gifts of cash, stock, etc. This tax credit is available in Montana through 2013..
